The start of School - Day 1

My class is 3.10pm - 6pm in the afternoon. This morning, I woke up around 8-9am when my room mates went in to the room.

I have 2 room mates. They are both called Jia Yi. Their English names are Joy and Amber. I know them from Hope Church Taipei and started to stay with them from the first day that I arrived in Taipei (17 Nov 2013).

They have a bunch of small fishes as pet. However, because they are not really at home most days, I feed them food and put them outside so that they can get some sunshine and bring them in again at night.

On the weekend, from Friday night to Sunday night, they usually stay in their parent's house. They are currently working in Taipei as Interior Designers. They are both 23 years old. They are both kind and funny.

Joy's mum is currently in the hospital due to an operation on her foot. I am not too sure what exactly happened (the aunt who lives with us explained it to me before but I can't understand 100% because of my Chinese ability), however Joy needs to stay in the hospital to accompany her mom so I haven't actually spend the night with her.

However, I have grown quite close to Amber, my other room mates. On my second day in Taipei, I forgot my way home. So, Amber told me to get a bus from Gong guan MRT Station, Exit 1. I then walked to the nearest 7 Eleven. Amber then picked me up there.

Anyway, today I went to a big 24 hours Carrefour supermarket in Ximen. The nearest MRT station are either Ximen or Xiananmen. Ximen either exit 1 or 2. It's not far from the exit. You can just walk there. I will give you a map later.

bitcoin, my future and greed

Today I became greedy. I sold all of my 13 or so BTC for $800 after I bought them for $737. Realising about $600 overall. I wanted to trade till I own 50BTC, the amount of Bitcoin that I was supposed to have if I get to buy them at $200 each for a total of $10k.

I was very nervous all day today as the price of bitcoin shoot up right after I sold my BTC
Before I slept today, I also bought around $250 bot for trading BTC.

I was supposed to get in to my Mt.Gox account, purchase a couple of BTC and then transfer it to my newly made BTC-e account ready for trading. However Mt. Gox has crashed and that I cant log in to my account. I then decided to search in Twitter about Mt.Gox. It is crashed. I guess I have to wait till tomorrow. Hopefully I can make a decent amount of money trading BTC.

Its a wait and see game I guess. The bot is 60 days money guarantee. It is a bit scary in that I am scared that the software is some kind of virus or that they are able to still money by crashing my wallet.

Orientation and Campus Tour

Yesterday (Friday, 22 Nov 13), I went to uni to attend orientation and campus tour. During the tour, I managed to know a few people.

1st Friend, a Korean girl (Claire) aged 21 who has spent 1.5 years in China. She said that she want to study philosophy at NTU. I was actually walking beside this girl and then our eyes met. I think I asked where she was from. I was guessing that she is from Korea and that I am interested to make friends with her as my mum is Korean and I have a lot of interest in learning Korean and speaking Korean. Her Chinese is actually not bad. Later I know that her Chinese is actually better than mine.

I told her that I came from Indonesia and at that time, another girl overheard our conversation and jumped in to our conversation. She said that she is also from Indonesia. What a coincidence! Later I know that among 6 of us, Fiona's Chinese level is the highest among us.

Then I spoke with her (Fiona) and introduced ourselves in Indonesian. She is also from Indonesia. I think she graduated from highschool 2 years ago and spent some time in China too. I then told her that although I was born in Indonesia, I actually lives in Australia for quite sometime. She then told me that she knows a Japanese that is also from Australia ( Sydney) We then introduce ourselves. Her name is Miki Asano.

When we spoke, Desi who is from Brisbane introduce himself to Miki. He is actually from Brisbane. Well, he was born in Melbourne. Later, I know that he spent 2 years studying in Korean university and that he is able to converse in Korean.

After the campus tour, we went back to the class. Some of us bought books and some of us just double checking our class schedule for next week.

We girls then decide to catch up in a cafe to exchange our contact details. On my way down the stairs, I met Desi and asked him if he wanted to join us. He then brought his friends too.He is from California, USA. His name is Dave.

We then ate lunch and exchange our contact details. Some of us have facebook, some of us line. I then created a 'Line' group called CLD, the name of our division. Chinese Language Division. Throughout the lunch time, we asked each other the purpose of studying and the length of study that they have in mind. We also get to realised that all of us are actually learning our 3rd language.

Miki: born in Australia. She is of Japanese descent. She can speak Japanese and English.
Desi: born in Australia. He can speak English and Korean
Claire: born in Korea. She can speak Korean and some English.
Fiona: born in Indonesia. She can speak Indonesian, English and a little Korean.
Dave: born in US. He can speak English and Spanish.
Me: born in Indonesia. I can speak Indonesian, English, Korean and a little French.

Dave and me had a lot of similarities. We both like nutrition fitness or health related stuff. He knows abour bitcoin and the state of the world's economy. He cooks at home.
